They’re at it again.
The city has scheduled a special city council meeting for February 16, 2017.
There is one item on the agenda:
Discussion and action on the update of the Strategic Plan: Goals for the City.

Would you like to know about the update, the strategic plan, or the goals for the city?
There is no backup material posted with the agenda item.
City ordinance 018031 requires that backup material be posted no later than 6 P.M. on the Wednesday before the meeting since the city is operating with a four day week.
Does anyone want to place a wager as to whether they let us see the material before the presentation at the city council meeting?

Who knows, maybe they’re finally coming to their senses and will move to scrap the plans to build an unnecessary arena? (Stranger things have happened, although not recently, and not in El Paso).

City of El Paso Strategic Goals: 1) Calculate value of all city fungible assets; 2) Write a check to Paul and Woody for same with gratitude for campaign contributions made to City Council members.

The rate of return on campaign contributions, PAC donations, and charitable contributions in El Paso is much higher than on most investments, plus you get the added bonus of the local media labeling you a great civic leader and philanthropist. Make a few key contributions and donations and you get the keys to the kingdom and the vault.
