If we read this chart correctly the number is at least 23.
That does not count the outside law firms that they hire.

Work on contracts related to all the new construction, define new and exciting ways to part taxpayers from their money (like PIDs), figure out the next land grab and deal with city lawsuits (wrongful termination, labor disputes, citizens suing the city, etc.).

Contracts and licenses. I don’t recall how many contracts and tech licenses were required for the BTOP project except lots, and the attorneys had to review and approve each one. Almost every department encounters this.

Like everything else related to POLITICIANS, Public Officials in El Taxo. A bloated, ineffectual City, County “Government” that does nothing to REPRESENT, take care of the PEOPLE. Tax, waste, spend INCREASE taxes. Lie, deny, deceive, cover up, lie again. The PEOPLE deserve better, just never gets better here. The only thing that ever changes here, is the names of the people that LIE to US, increase OUR taxes

I’m with Helen Marshall! What do they all do? Ever? We all know that it is tough for a new law school grad to find work, but since when did the City of El Paso receive a mandate to provide that work? I doubt very seriously if we can afford this.

Whether or not HOME OWNERS can “Afford” what El Taxo politicians WANT, is subjective in the minds of the politicians, public officials. A BILLION$$$$$ in DEBT and no way to pay it, EXCEPT constantly increasing TAXES. Another Detroit down the tubes.

Nearly every item for council vote is reviewed and approved by the City Attorney.

2.06.080 – Review of resolutions, contracts and ordinances by city attorney.
All resolutions, contracts and ordinances shall be reviewed, approved as to form, and signed by the city attorney or designee before they are placed on the city council agenda. Agenda items requesting the expenditure of money or the transfer of funds among budgeted accounts must state the amount of money involved and, either in the posted item or in an attachment made available in the city clerk’s office and posted on the city’s website, indicate the name and number of the account from which the expenditure shall be made, and the accounts to and from which the transfer will be made and the justification and purpose for the transfer. The department proposing the expenditure or budget transfer shall provide the city manager’s office such details and support data as required to permit a timely and orderly review.
