Wouldn’t it be cheaper just to build restrooms in the San Jacinto plaza? $1.4 million to buy and renovate a building that will have 16 stalls?

This from a city government that originally said there was no need for bathrooms as part of the plaza project. It’s another great example of El Paso putting shiny objects over the most basic necessities. That has been a consistent problem for about the last 15 years and there is no end in sight.

l’m going to label this post ‘The Pajama Phenomena.’ Every once in a while, usually after 9:30 pm, l like to take a nice “healthy” 3.5 block walk over to the grocery store to purchase my usual 55 gallon vat of quadruple fudge, peanut butter enhanced, frazzle berry flavored ice cream (the organic version, of course). So, as l’m walking around the store l always notice at least a couple of young (or semi young) females walking around wearing pajama pants. How did this ever get started? BTW- don’t get too excited because l have yet to see one of them that’s rated over a 6. Anyway, l’m pretty sure it’s NOT rebelliousness or exhibitionism. l believe it’s good ol’ fashioned l just don’t give a crap. Yes, if there’s one thing you can take away from this meaningless e-babbling, it’s that we should all just all stop caring.

It’s called good ol’ fashioned laziness. They don’t give a crap because looking presentable takes a little work. Work they aren’t willing to do. This is the same generation that is to lazy to pull up their pants and that want to increase minimum wage so they can stay in an entry level position without having to work to get promoted to a better position. If they could they’d show up to work in their pajamas. My office no longer requires us to wear a tie everyday yet I still do and I actually get dressed and do my hair to go to the grocery store. I fear for our future.

Streets, streets, streets, streets. Mesa is crumbling between in places between Sunland and downtown. It’s a state highway, but the city should be asking the State for help with Mesa instead of asking the State for millions of dollars for a waterpark developer.

My understanding of TXDOT is that once I-10 and the 375 Loop are complete on the west side, they will start on Mesa. Also, I-10 from downtown thru central to the eastside will be rebuilt. I-10 has passed its 50 year life span.

Robert Francis O’Rourke raised $80 million dollars in a year and has a mere half a million left. He lost by 3 points some showing,huh? Think of what he would do with your tax dollar! Money runs Thur his fingers like water with nothing to show for his efforts. Look at the boondoggle created by Mr. O’Rourke and his cronies with all the round round about to no one where! And look at ness with all buildings demolished for ball stadium . He is a true Kennedy and Obama!

Gonzalez is asking for $60K in legal fees and an additional $100K for future legal fees for the ethics complaints filed against him by Jim Tolbert.
These are the complaints that Tolbert later claimed Susie Byrd had written and convinced him to sign and file.
He asserts it was a Susie Byrd-Veronica Escobar cabal power play.

I have no way of communicating directly with good governance oxymoron so I will use the reply mechanism to explain a situation.
He/she had to post this comment twice because it did not appear the first time.
The blog software quarantines posts that have multiple URL’s embedded in them since many times spammers make comments with a lot of URL’s.
In those cases we have to manually approve the comment.

Gonzalez should have bought a personal insurance policy to cover those kinds of things before he took the job.
I have expenses related to the repair of my car due to Gonzalez’s lousy management of city streets. Will he reimburse me?

If another city is competing with El Paso in the recruitment of businesses, all it has to do is tell those businesses that Gonzalez flies to Dallas for doctor appointments.

If Gonzalez is asking for protection against future ethics complaints, maybe he knows something we don’t know about the Great Wolf deal and the land swap that was part of it.
