How many do you know? I find everything the Dems advocate offensive to American and traditional morality. Simple shit like our borders should be open and not respected; the Constitution is not the law of the land when free speech sends you to your cry closet; women with penises should have free abortions; the family is regressive; illegal aliens should have free healthcare when Americans don’t…It goes on. It is Leftist insanity.

Yet, 100% of my friends, the gal whom I love, and half my family agrees with the Dems. No way I want them out of my life.

      Live and let live.

thank you for your insightful comments.

I was being sarcastic regarding liberal orthodoxy. they claim diversity as a virtue while requiring absolute singularity of thought. they claim to be the party of science while announcing that there are more than 60 genders and that biological sex is a social construct. they claim global warming is an existential threat then put forth plans which include universal income, which has nothing to do with global warming. they claim to be against “fascism” while Antifa sprays people in the face with bear mace, they attack people with bats, broken bottles, knives, etc. and throw chemicals in the face of people they disagree with politically. I could literally go through every tenet of their supposed catalog of ideas and demonstrate that they themselves are completely hypocritical.

this. after my 20 year-old nephew spent the last three days texting everyone in his cell phone contacts “evidence” that donald trump is the same as adolf hitler

I would guess that a lot of folks are just taking a break today, after a pretty shitty week. So, let’s think positive thoughts for a change.

The people in the stores are quiet this week.
    A solemn feeling out there.
    People are driving “distracted.”
    Mentally distracted. Crazy driving.
We SEE this stuff happening way down in Florida and up in Colorado or Las Vegas, and we dont feel it here much.
But, NOW . . the city feels it.

The gun shops are selling guns fast and people applying for License to Carry, but, no one in 3000 people that WAS packing at walmart did anything.
    Nothing. Zip. Nada.
One man was throwing bottles at the killer, so there WAS chances to hit the guy while his back was turned.
However, the lady at the local Gun Store on facebook page said:
“Well, they probably didnt want to chance hitting a by-standard.”
Ok, then they might as well not be armed then.
That’s what happens in war. And the people that work there tell ME, IT WAS WAR inside the store.
    Just a mess.
    Oh well.

Some people that were shot slightly, or flesh wounds, left right away and headed back to Juarez before the cops sealed off the parking lot. I guess some others were also wounded slightly and were some of the first to “Get the hell outta-Dodge.”
    Just a mess.

I’ve been in Walmart during a back to school sale. It is packed people and chaos without a shooter. When you are in a crowd of 3000 people running in all directions in a tight space, pulling a weapon and engaging the shooter could easily have gotten more people killed. It most likely would have gotten anyone who did it sued. Folks who get carry permits are trained in situational awareness and liability. I wouldn’t fault anyone carrying a weapon who chose not to engage the shooter. That said there have been cases of armed folks able to prevent shootings when they were able to engage the shooter in the parking lot or in a setting where bystanders took cover. The Dayton killer was stopped early by police able to take a safe shot. So, assuming that individuals carrying weapons are always ineffective is wrong.

Perhaps I missed something in all the coverage of this tragic event, but was there verified individuals with concealed carry permits actually carrying a firearm that did not engage the shooter? I am not judging either way, just missed that information.

There was one in Cielo Vista. He gathered up a group of abandoned kids that no one else wanted to stop and help and got them into a store safely and was prepared to defend them. He was a soldier and recognized by the President this week. No one in the Walmart was identified as having a carry permit. The conversation was just highlighting why if armed folks were there it would have been difficult to engage the shooter. I doubt we’ll ever know. Mexico announced last week that it is helping its citizens hire lawyers. Anyone who was armed would be foolish to admit it since a personal injury lawyer will likely be going after all deep pockets. Perhaps the next time a cartel shoots up Americans, our government should help our citizens sue folks in Mexico.

Isn’t it nice that we have such great elected people? We ever have two EPISD trustees at the news conference.
Anything for a little political exposure.
