The city seems to have decided to only include police and fire requests in the upcoming bond election.
It looks like the issue will be put on the ballot as a single item (take it or leave it) totaling $413 million.
The item will be on the November ballot.

I think that the police department should ask for more money when they can catch vandals who spray paint their name/nickname on public and private property. if you cannot find someone who leaves their name at the scene of the crime then maybe you should focus on investigative technique and actual police work rather than new facilities.
personally, I would gather up the leaders of every gang each time new vandalism occurs and accuse them of being or knowing the name tagged to the building/wall/etc. “Chuco Nino” would get enough attention that someone would reveal their identity or otherwise resolve the issue of that person’s continued vandalism

Whatever they put on the ballot, this tired voter will vote against. I’m just tired of constant spending, never delivering, and no end in sight. Council needs to begin cutting all the deadwood and out of sight stuff that is eating up our tax dollars (well, some in sight stuff, too, like their stupid trolley and the ball park and all the other things that we subsidize for rich folks).

That is one of the best comments I’ve seen. Vote no until City Council shows some willingness to live within their means and cut back a little on unnecessary projects. And that pretty much means vote no permanently.

VOTING NO ON ALL NEW SPENDING. PERIOD. This city must form a reasonable budget employing the usual taxes collected and pay off debt at a higher rate so we can LOWER THE TAX RATE. Right now, we’re at a rate that is 42% higher than our historical average rate. RIDICULOUS!

Spending beyond our means floats a lot of boats in the desert.It is the essence of the trickle-up economy. How else are our reps going to say thank you to Paul and Woody and their friends for putting them in office.

That’s a big NO for me on ANY Bond election. Are maybe a YES, depending upon how the Mayor, Clown Council, City “Manager”, their minions, “word” the Bond language, to confuse us “stupid, ignorant peons” so that WE have no idea what the hell we voted ” For, Against, uh, yes, no”. “I know what it said, but what does it mean”? Lies, deception. Maybe they need the Bonds so they can gas up all the NEW patrol cars, get them out of the parking lots and on the street. Maybe improve RESPONSE time of their REACTION force?
