Civil discourse

The blog readers got into some disagreements Saturday.

We are appreciative that on the whole there was very little offensive name calling and most of the discussion did not seem to be personal.

Yes there were a few exceptions but on the whole people were civil.

We thank you.

We deserve better

I didn’t see any arguments or disagreements yesterday.

If you would stop allowing anonymous entries, that would stop immediately.

What is it about free speech that you don’t like? Does who says something change what is being said?

For example, if you say you hate disabled people and get bashed for it but Brad Pitt says the same thing and everyone praises his courage for speaking openly, what would be the real message there? That it is okay to hate disabled people?

Things that are said are either agreeable or not, but the speaker makes no difference unless the listener has bias. In those cases it doesn’t matter at all what is being said, you are merely seeking agreement with your own beliefs.

Aw, come on now, Brut. If these egotistical, senile 94 year olds wish to scratch each other’s eyes out, then l say let ’em.
