Our national choices are essentially for rule by mob (Democrats). Many of their “ideas” don’t seem to be very good at all.

The “Party of Science” has decreed that there are more than 93 genders, and that no gender is correct without agreement of the gendered.

Gendered may choose to change their gender at any time they wish. i.e. Gender is a choice.

It is violence to mispronounce the name of a transgender.

What if I don’t want the government to force me to pay for gender reassignment surgery and medications?

Can I also choose not to be poor?

What if I want to be a different race or ethnicity?

Can I decide which race I want to be at the time I fill out forms, for example a student application? (Elizabeth Warren would say yes)

I suppose that I’d rather stay anonymous, too, than have people know that I am so terribly misinformed that I have a twisted view of the world. What he gets wrong is that what he calls ‘rule by mob’ only wants freedom for all people. I don’t think that is such a bad thing.

My only disagreement is that it’s not “rule by mob.” It’s rule by coastal elites and our national media, whose shared ideology is that they know what’s best for the rest of us.

Funny thing, Dungan only commented on this part of your post. He must agree with the rest.

Rarely anymore on this blog do we hear concerns about wasteful state or government spending. (Brutus used to call it the Feral government I think) Just local taxes, school districts, blah blah blah

Here are a couple of projects we should think about:

The new WBAMC is 3 years late and $629 Million over budget. That is over a half BILLION dollars over budget. Why aren’t the retirees on this blog outraged about that?

The Border Expressway/ Toll Road cost $639.5 million for 7.4 miles which comes out to about $86.4 million per mile. Where is the righteous indignation about that waste? We paid almost $100 million per mile to build a road that drivers will have to pay to use.

Those of us who live in the upper valley country club area and work downtown love the expressway. My commute is easier and now I can zip to the club after work for a few holes of golf before drinks.

To put it another way: One foot of Expressway cost $16,363.64. The average income of an El Pasoan is about $20,000 per year. An average El Pasoan makes enough annually to pay for about 1.25 feet of the Border Expressway.

And, you are among the very few that will benefit from this huge cost to the many, who get basically, nothing.

Have you ever commented on the convention center that the city wants to put on the West side within 1,000 feet of the Great Wolf Lodge? Especially in context of how well the downtown convention center is doing?

There have been lots of comments about the Great Wolf giveaway, but if you have new details, post them. The city and Great Wolf together have schemed to declare that the small meeting area in Great Wolf’s plans qualifies as a convention center. They are doing that to try to qualify for $40,000,000 in state subsidies. The city has promised to pay Great Wolf $40,000,000 if the state rejects the application. The state will reject it and taxpayers will have to cover the $40,000,000 and that is probably why the people at city hall want to be able to divert money from the new bond.
