Still true

I ran across this the other day:

We must especially beware of that small group of selfish men who would clip the wings of the American Eagle in order to feather their own nests.

Franklin D. Roosevelt

We deserve better

This is meaningless drivel. “Watch out for bad people who I point out as being bad”. He meant this for his political enemies.

What this really means is that a person can point to literally anything and accuse someone of self-enrichment, racism, fill-in-the-blank, etc. It is a political statement intended for political use.

It could be argued that Franklin D. Roosevelt was guilty of this, he, and a compliant media, hid his many serious medical issues from the voting public for his entire time in office. If that isn’t self-serving then nothing is.

JFK, and a compliant media, hid his infidelity. Bill Clinton, and a compliant media, hid his indiscretions until they could no longer do so.

John Edwards, when running for Vice-President on John Kerry’s ticket, had an affair resulting in child while he campaigned and his wife had cancer, and the press was fully aware and reported nothing. It took the Enquirer to break the story.

A better expression is “Beware a compliant media and a Democrat”.

A perfect example of what? That link has nothing to do with the Roosevelt’s statement.

it has everything to do with claiming a larger purpose while acting in a personal capacity.

antifa doesn’t speak for me, nor do they oppose actual fascism. they violently oppose things they don’t like.

Even the people in antifa have a right to free speech and violence by extremists happens on both the left or right. Politicians claim every day to be be “working for a larger purpose while acting in a personal capacity” and using government resources for personal gain. No one does that more than the president. Our elected officials violently oppose things they don’t like through undeclared war and military actions.

Remember that next time you leave a Hillary rally and they throw eggs in your face. Oh, wait, that only happens to conservatives.

If you simply don’t like conservatives just say that, your protestations that they are “bad people” and deserve mistreatment is evidence of simple ill-intent.

What you should do is put your money where your mouth is. Join Antifa since you like them so much. One day they are going to spray bear mace at the wrong people. When a group like Antifa thinks it is okay to commit violence merely because it doesn’t like something, and someone like you makes excuses for them, don’t cry when others decide they don’t much care for violence being visited upon them.

You say Antifa has a right to free speech. Conservatives have a right to self-defense. So don’t cry when they exercise that right.

I think this is a accurate statement. I have know many selfish people who never thought of anyone but themselves. No compassion, empathy, or love for anyone. Never consider their actions until perhaps when they decline and began to die and reflect on the brief time they existed here on Mother Earth. Luckily we have many types of humans here on our planet. Romantic people that live for love and the chance to create something beautiful for everyone. Artists, cooks, gardeners, caregivers of all types, writers, architects, teachers and many others who work to make the world a better place. But as it has throughout the history of humanity the greedy, corrupt, selfish, and debased have slithered into society in great numbers. These creatures bring a agenda that only benefits themselves. They must be fought with great tenacity and cast out less they destroy productive society. The greedy are a tremendous threat, read the history of humanity and you will know this. That is one of the reasons why the FDR and Elenor Roosevelt will never die, nobody will forget them. All humans have flaws, that is why we are not Gods. Without any doubt some people are created far superior to others . Some people regardless of the background are defective . These people represent man’s inhumanity to man. Thank you Mr. Brutus for that lovely quote. Wishing all a productive day.

Who gets to decide who the “greedy, corrupt, selfish, and debased” people are? For example, does Person A get to ask their foreign neighbor for a favor with no consequences, but if Person X does the same thing they are prosecuted?

There are bad people, but greed, selfishness and debasement aren’t crimes. Corruption can be a crime, mostly dependent upon who commits it.

My point is that the things you point out as bad are largely subjective, and power in the wrong hands could result in great injustice in having subjective crimes.

Another example is Antifa, they claim to be against Fascism yet they use violence against their opposition, oppose free speech and favor government force against political enemies. They literally are fascists.

Bernie Sanders will very likely be the Democrat candidate for the Presidential election 2020. He will have someone like Elizabeth Warren for his Vice-Presidential candidate.

He makes Robert Francis O’Rourke look sane.

Joseph Biden may run as an independent with O’Rourke as his Hispanic running mate.

Michael Bloomberg will simply be a spoiler. His hatred for Donald Trump will cause him to spend more money than the Democrat candidate, and the end result is that some liberals will actually vote for Bloomberg. Steyer may join Bloomberg’s ticket to spend money bashing Trump. If so, he will also attract votes away from the Democrat candidate.

    lol @ you

Elizabeth Warren announced that she will literally criminalize speech. She has told numerous lies that she refuses to acknowledge, but wishes to criminalize the speech of others she deems to be somehow misleading.

She also wants a 9 1/2 year old transgender child to vet her appointment for education. Let’s pretend to not wonder how a 9 1/2 year old child could possibly be transgender. Most children do not sexualize until puberty. Most parents won’t let a 9 1/2 year old eat ice cream for breakfast, lunch and dinner, but now they get to choose their gender before learning to make good choices.

Maybe we should let children decide when to launch nuclear weapons.
