Taking time to reflect

It seems that some people think they are getting exercise when they jump to conclusions.

We deserve better

Do you mean things like global warming?

That forms the basis of conclusions many people have jumped to based on flimsy evidence.

The Earth is 4.5+ billion years old and we have roughly 76 years of accurate temperature data and even less accurate global temperature data, yet some people claim a wide variety of things with respect to the Earth.

For example, when they say the Earth is hotter than it has ever been, how do they know it wasn’t hotter 3.9 billion years ago? (hint, it was, much much hotter because it was forming).

What about 210,000 years ago? Don’t know, and neither does anyone else.

What about 300 years ago? Don’t know, and neither does anyone else.

Chicken Little existed when the story was created, and still does now. A character who cries loudly about something they know nothing about and their claims are wrong.

If the Earth really only has ten or twelve years, and China or India aren’t going to participate in whatever solution is “required” (how would anyone know the solution to a problem so dire yet never before encountered?), then it doesn’t matter what politicians in California enforce only against poor people.

But Bernie Sanders knows how to save the planet, and it involves money and political power. He has been a politician his whole life and has no record of accomplishment whatsoever. Other than to steer campaign and government dollars to his wife.

    The sky is falling? lol.

The only person acting like the sky is falling is you.

What is your “record of accomplishment”?

why does he need a record of accomplishment? he doesn’t appear to be telling anyone to change their entire life to fit his worldview.

you are engaging in intellectual dishonesty because you can’t argue against his statement. so you attack him personally. typical liberal response.

prove anything he said is wrong.

Comment on this comment would be a waste of electrons…Anonymous knows so much more than the rest of us, including all those clueless scientists, and has no trouble jumping to conclusions. Have a great day y’all.

Took the words right on outta my mouth. I was surprised he didn’t blame it all on the Democrats who run El Paso, though.

If he is wrong, as you say, then why are you worried about taxes? The world is near ending and you resort to sarcasm and derision?

Doesn’t seem like you believe in global warming, either.

    The Science is Settled™

Name a single area of science where there are no questions. We can first examine no-disputed disciplines such a Paleontology, Medicine or Nuclear Energy.

In each of these highly studied areas, tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of persons have spent lifetimes studying these scientific areas and there is no one in these fields claiming everything has been learned or that everyone is on the same page.

There actually does not exist any listing of worldwide scientific personnel. It is literally impossible to say, for example, how many scientists there are in the field of viral studies.

Yet somehow, in the singular field of Climate Science™ there are numerous experts(?) proclaiming the science of the Earth’s climate is completely known, that everyone agrees on the results and that there is a singular solution to the “problem”, one that involves politics and the ability to control climate.

This is a farce. It is ridiculous for anyone to claim that everyone in any scientific field is in agreement when there is no method for tracking who is doing what. All anyone can say is that everyone they agree with is saying the same thing they are. That’s not science, it is simply a statement of belief.

Everything we learned about dinosaurs as children has been changed. Salt is not as bad for humans as was believed for the last fifty years. Science merely represents our current understanding of something. This changes over time as we learn new things.

Anyone who says they know everything about climate and how it works is a liar. Especially internet trolls who have zero actual knowledge of climate science.

So Anonymous, do the right thing for yourself and explain to your grand children why you are doing it and not something else.

      Easy peasy.

Speaking of climate science I had a good laugh at last night’s debate when Bloomberg and Biden were playing who is muy macho. Bloomberg was going to sign the Paris Accord on Day One of his Presidency. But Biden decided to top that by saying he was going to invite the other signatories to fly in for a formal event. Yeah, a bunch of folks firing up the private jets to watch an old guy sign an agreement that allows China and India to continue to pollute at record levels sure will slow down climate change.
