Mayor, please read this

This came in from Jerry Kurtyka with his request that we publish it:

Mayor Margo:

Read this article in El Paso Matters and pay attention. No one gives a shit about your handicap at EPCC.  The situation is desperate.  Get on you phone and call your friends who can get food here.  Got it?  Good.

  1. Rich people are different than the rest of us says:

The rich white men congratulating him and Adair at the Country Club for his great work in that video on KVIA didn’t seem to be having problems finding food. In fact, they seemed to be eating enough for two or three of us.

It’s funny you bring race into a non-racial subject. If you hate white people you really have no business castigating others about your perceived racism. You are a racist yourself, no different from a Klansman.

Either racism is wrong or it is not. It isn’t okay to be selectively racist.

Hypocrite. You can also feed whoever you demand “white” people feed. Put your money where your mouth is or shut up your incessant, racist whining.

If you want to lecture people on putting their money where their mouths forget that person commenting. Go tell that to Foster, Hunt and friends who want our money to subsidize their personal businesses.

Your own racism is showing. EPCC has lots of Hispanic members. I think at least one of the guys in shorts was Hispanic.

Why is that the Mayor’s problem? Food banks are private entities, often charities. Government cannot be required to provide for private endeavors.

How about JerryK put his money where his mouth is and do what hea demands of others?

This illustrates the serious flaw in socialist thinking. You complain about government ineptness and lack of response, yet all your solutions involve government control. The argument against socialism is that government is almost never the solution to anything. Reality proves that government is almost always inept and slow to respond.

In the case of charities, demanding that government step in to cover shortfalls is the wrong solution. Those screaming the loudest should do what they demand of others. If not, then shut up.

Using an issue such as overburdened charities to illustrate a political point is silly, as charities are barred by law from politics.

Anon; Been volunteering there several shifts a week now for the past month. Hard work but rewarding. Join us.

Disclosure: I was a member at EPCC for almost 20 years (actually my former wife). Never broke 100 honestly.

Just like the city rep that “donated” some of her office budget, which is taxpayer monies, to a charity of her choice. If you are going to allow politicians to donate taxpayer money to charities then only their favorite charities will ever have a chance to benefit, and in a political way. This should be barred by law, if it is not already. The city rep should repay the taxpayers, if they want to donate to charities they can do it with their own money.

You seem to forget our ribbon cutting Mayor is not really liked by anyone rich or poor and his claim to fame is his wife’s connection to a former First Lady.
Margo can call the world until th cows come home and our joke of a mayor won’t come up with help because no one listens to him.
Kind of like the last puppet mayors.
    Where are they now

That’s not true. Dee and Adair were able to get JP Bryan to donate a big bag of money to the Tom Lea Institute years ago, but that hole has dried up since Dee took sides with Woody and Paul in the fight to build the arena in Duranguito. It’s fun to watch egomaniacal rich people try to eat one another.

It is true most in the citizens in El Paso know Dee Margo is a elitist snob that dislikes poor people and he found a equal in his wife. A educated human being (and that is why the elites in this country don’t want widespread affordable education) Or upward mobility in large numbers as it competes with their goal of unbalanced society and a ability to hold large numbers of the population hostage by excessive taxation and conservative courts that uphold conservative law. Conservatives being people who do not want change or any balance. As for socialism, there are many varieties. I believe in easy does it. If you are able to share and help by donating your time, who does that hurt ? It is proven it even benefits the giver by improving self worth and self esteem. This corrupt, corporate culture that has no heart will be it’s own undoing. We need leadership now and always.
