Here is another example of behavior that should concern us.

Here (from the bottom) we have a city representative listening to a citizen speak during a city council meeting. Instead of paying attention and keeping an open mind the city representative sends an email to the city manager saying “This guy loves the mic”. So much for public input.
Then incredibly within one minute the city manager responds “He always looks at me because he gets nervous that I might jump up and knock him out for talking too much”.
No respect
Clearly neither one was listening with the intent to learn.
The city manager either has to stifle an urge to become violent or has fantasies of how she might like to respond.
Shameful!
We deserve better

OMG – how tragic – people with an opinion. I would care about this issue if the same 5 people were not the ones at the podium every Tuesday. I watch – I know. The drama they bring, the wild accusations, the stupid comments that have nothing to do with everyday life – that’s why public comment should be at the end of the meeting.

So I am watching public comment now at council. Lisa Turner gets up their to complain that she can’t get an appointment at the VA for 6 months and that Congressman O’Rourke doesn’t return calls. Really – this is city business? No – its a venue – to get in front of a camera!!!! Has zero to do with city business. No wonder council loses patience with speakers.

Seeing into their hearts? Good god, what are you, a 13 year old goth/emo kid? These are adults who are trying to run a city. They might have to listen to these dolts who have nothing better to do than expound and expand on the mic, but that doesn’t mean they have to like them. It doesn’t even mean they have to be nice when they comment on their verbal vomit.
Everyone who disagrees with City Council always says they lack respect for protocol or rules or the people who oppose them. What about the protocol and rules that the taxpayer should follow when they address their elected officials? I don’t like President Obama, but I would treat him with the respect the office deserves. Perhaps if the professional anklebiters did the same, Council wouldn’t have a reason to be smart asses when they approach the mic.
Thank you, Brutus, for your dispatch from the land of unicorns and rainbows where no one ever falls victim to snarkiness and disdain for their fellow man. It must be nice to live there – how unfortunate for the rest of us who have to muddle through the real world.

Maybe Brutus is actually a pen name for George W. Bush.
It was W who made the following statement about Vladimir Putin: “I looked the man in the eye. I found him to be very straight forward and trustworthy and we had a very good dialogue. I was able to get a sense of his soul.”
W was accused of many things, but never of being from the land of unicorns and rainbows.

What’s wrong with unicorns, rainbows, and a little kindness?

These “dolts” are taxpayers and constituents who place their adult faith and trust in these individuals to represent their best interests. When they disagree, they go before their government to express their grievances and speak their mind. Perhaps their intellect and social status is beneath yours and your ilk, but at the very least, remember that the least of them pays these individuals’ salaries and funds their projects. Further, in a true “adult” and professional setting, referring to any other adult in that matter is simply unacceptable. If the customer or constituent is rude or less intelligent, proper modicum is to politely sit and listen. But judging such infantile response to what has been a very polite and respectful opinion by this blogger, it would seem that some share that same classless and common and at the very least unfamiliarity with professional adult protocol..

Brutus, l agree with Tricia that you disrespecting Joyc…err, l mean Queen Wilson is the MOST disgusting thing l have EVER read! Tricia and myself realize that only a FOOL believes that respect should be earned and not awarded based on someone’s job title. And don’t trick us with facts and reality by reminding us that Queen Wilson has a history of disrepecting people (including wearing a baseball cap while listening to people’s concerns about the stadium) because Queen Wilson is, after all, CITY ROYALTY! l just pray to God that The Queen doesn’t read your e-vomit. And if she does find out that one of her subjects is disobedient, l hope that CC will pass an ordinance that gives Her the authority to use the gallows! Why if it wasn’t for The Queen playing a vital role in us going deep into debt, we probably would’ve used that money for repairing that messes known as I-10 and l-54 or trying to get synchronized traffic lights or some other STUPID stuff.
GOD SAVE THE QUEEN ! ! !
