Breaking (broken) news

The construction company that is building the ballpark and one of the investors in the AAA baseball team have just announced that they are forming a new construction company, ultimately replacing the old company.

You can read about it here.

The press release tells us that all projects started after August 8, 2013 will be performed by the new company.

Evidently the ballpark construction will not be transferred to the new company.

Truth stranger than fiction

I cannot imagine making this accusation on my own.  The ballpark story just gets worse and worse.

Even if the companies somehow find a way for the new company to not benefit or participate in the ballpark, this simply does not look right.

We deserve better

And you’re surprised? As of 4:20 p.m., nearly a full day after this story was released, the El Paso Times has still not reported this story on their website. That’s unusual given how they so frequently add other breaking news stories mid-day. I guess they’re still wringing their hands trying to figure out how to play it. Or maybe they’re still waiting for direction.

It amazes me that this unholy union did not wait until AFTER the stadium was completed to keep all of us “crazies” from imagining some sort of impropriety was going on!! This whole story has gotten a life of its own…..you just can’t make stuff like this up! Yes, the city purse strings are being controlled by the financially elite, and the rest of us are just pawns in the system to finance their businesses. Seems to me that the FBI needs to get involved on this more than ever. The rich get richer while we stand by and watch collusion allegedly go on right under our noses.

Business people making business decisions, to make money. Where is the story? A large partnership like this El Paso wins. Less out of town large contractors needed for partnerships for up coming projects; i.e. the Arena, possible soccer stadium. Money stays in El Paso for the most part. Sounds like sour grapes for those who disagree.
