Questions for council candidates #4 (debt)

Today’s suggested question for city council candidates is:

What limits, if any, would you vote to put on city debt?

We deserve better

And how about this: Would you propose ending the four-day week so that city personnel and services are more fullly available to the taxpayers?

Most of the 4-day crowd are internal like HR and financial services. It is (or was for me) a real pain in the ass to have to fit our interactions with them into their week. I absolutely insisted that my BTOP staff work a regular 5-day week with instruction going 6 days and my small IT staff on call 7 days. The Library was on a 6-day schedule for the public with the Main branch open 7 days. There are still dedicated public servants in city employ.

The offices I interact with such as Parks, and Neighborhood Services, are on the 4-day schedule….

  3. There should be no limit on debt because I can tax the hell out of you for my buddies who are richer than anyone you know. The losers of El Paso are just a money source to keep us fat cats fat.
