I did not read anything about blunders. I did read that he made choices about which battles to fight.

After digging into this, it appears that Jefferson’s anti-judiciary rants were not motivated by a fear of harm to the country, but more of a fear that he wasn’t getting his own way. In other words, politics as usual.
