Bike share

Does anyone know how our city bike share program is doing?

We could file an open records request but would rather find out before all of the bikes rust into the ground.

We deserve better

IF. . . . the Bike Share / bike rentals/ downtown, made even 1 Cent. . . you’d hear about it in the news.
What you won’t hear . . . . is about the stolen bikes, the spray painted bikes, the bikes with slashed tires and all of the ones with flat thorned and stickered tires.

    Which reminds me . . . . . “Sweaty / infected/ bacteria / bike seats”. . . . .
Just read an article about diseases being passed to high school wrestlers thru SWEAT on the mat from others that have diseases.

If you go to rent an bike that is not yours. . . take a can of Lysol Spray with you to hose that infected thing down.

If there were “Any success whatsoever” with the bike rentals downtown . . . . Oh, you’d hear about it.

With narrow lanes and buses can hardly turn a corner. . . and now with trolley tracks in the middle of the street, there . . .IS. . . no place to ride a bike downtown (other than the sidewalk, which is illegal and too many people downtown to do it.)

Well, I’ll just go ahead and blurt out:

    “I TOLD YOU SO.”

    . . . 2 years before this Bike Share/ Rentals/ downtown, was started. . . . .

(But, evidently, once you become a city counsel member, you quit reading any blogs, and shut out any outside information or ideas . . . .)

If any of you are downtown or near downtown, if you could get some current photos of the bike racks to post here, that would be helpful.

Are they empty, full, destroyed?, any missing bikes?, etc.

Seriously, would any of you folks ride a bike with a basket on the handlebars and sitting high in the saddle? All you would need to complete the scene would be for you to wear your best Birkenstocks and floppy hat while singing “Lazy Day” by Spanky and Our Gang.

Oh yes. . . . like . . . .Angela Lansbury riding her bike around town solving crimes (Murder She Wrote).

And in the end of the show. . . she has the entire El Paso City Council sitting in her living room telling the Sheriff who did this, and who did that, and who committed all of the crimes . . . . . .
