Not while the voters are paying attention

Have you all noticed how little activity is occurring relative to the proposed arena?

Could it be that city council does not want to make waves during the campaign period?

Council has told us that the longer we delay construction the higher costs will be, yet they are doing nothing.

It seems again in this case that they are protecting themselves instead of the public.

We deserve better

Didn’t we hear this once before? Something to do with delaying a bond issue sale by the former CM.

Jerry, hopefully the new council will ask the people to vote again after reading this blog’s prior article. We are in debt up to our butt.

Anyone remember the debt under DeWitter or another mayor from the past? I don’t remember these things being so bad. Will anyone even vote? Or care? The Westside YWCA was empty on Monday when i went in.

Is anyone really the least bit surprised by any of this?

Brutus, The City is laying quiet about the arena right now because it is buying up property in the proposed (but not yet official) footprint. Rumor has it that the City is wildly overpaying for properties with impunity: once the site is made official, the City will only be able to offer fair market value or use imminent domain.
