Back in May of 2017 our city council approved the City of El Paso Transit Oriented Development Incentive Policy.
The policy allows for property tax and sales tax rebates on new construction and remodeling in eight designated areas of the city:
Streetcar corridor
Downtown
Airport
Northgate
Five Points
Mission Valley
El Dorado
Medical Center of the Americas
The rebates:
These rebates are money that will not be paid into the general fund thus making the burden on the ordinary homeowner higher.

So, basically, nobody pays taxes on any of the bright, shiny toys demanded by the privileged few, while the rest of us are stuck with the ever mounting debt.

Exactly, John G. Dungan. The politicians NEVER represent the PEOPLE of El Taxo.. THEY only REPRESENT whoever stuffs the most money in their back pockets.. Okay, okay Campaign “Donations” 🙂 Nothing ever changes, ever gets better for the PEOPLE of El Taxo. Tax, waste, spend, tax some more. Inherent Public CORRUPTION. Just like EPISD.

Some city representatives love to tell us, how hard they are working to lighten the residential property tax burden, by shifting it onto commercial property owners. That certainly does not seem the case.
Why does the media continue to unquestioning accept this fantasy bull shit?

“Media”?? I’m not sure there is any “Media” in El Taxo any more. There is certainly NONE that will investigate, uncover the political, public corruption that goes on here. As far as they are concerned “Ain’t no corruption going on here”. The local “News” stations, nor the El Taxo Times. Channels 4, 7, 9 talk about the Border Wall, the poor, mistreated Illegals. The Times has about as many pages now as the local grocery store ads. Most of what they even print is from other towns, cities news papers. “Uncle Joe and Aunt Suzie from Juarez are visiting family in El Paso this weekend. They will go see the pretty colors of the new neon lights on I-10. They are expected to return to Juarez on Sunday evening, after a busy weekend in El Paso”.
