Creating their own trouble

Quality of life

Don’t tell me that includes more city lawyers.

According to the budget posted on the city web site, the 2013 budget for personal services in the office of the city attorney  is $3,144,928.  They are authorized to have 39 full time employees.

That could include receptionists, clerks, secretaries, paralegals and attorneys.  Averaging this out, an employee costs $80,639.17 per year. According to the El Paso Times website most of those attorneys get paid well over $100,000 per year in salary alone.

It is not for me to criticize how much some other person makes.  I do know several private attorneys that feel that the pay vs. capabilities vs. workload equation down at the city works out to be overly generous.  Then again I don’t know many attorneys that do not think they are better than their peers.

What is important here is the money we are spending for legal services instead of parks or libraries and other services.

I wonder what the economic impact on the budget would be if the city attorneys would advise council to do the right thing instead of finding a way around what the public is entitled to.

I do know that Scrivener seems to be involved in a lot of issues.  He seems to be working hard.

We deserve better

For the last few years the attorneys hired have been at a rate of 60-66 thousand. Each time one is hired their resume and salary are posted in the backup. The rest are the outside council fees because of the numerous lawsuits filed by Carl Starr and Salvador Gomez.

The budget for outside counsel services is $612,900. We would need to add that on to the $3,144,928 using your approach.

Sounds like someone is making excuses for editing or deleting comments that he doesn’t agree with. Chicken shit bloggers always fail.

If your commenters are hurting your ego, maybe you ought to rethink your incorrect conspiracy theories.

      David,

It’s odd that someone who has his own blog with an infinite amount of space is so compelled to constantly post such mean-spirited things at the EP Times, ElPasoSpeaks, and God only knows where else. Today, you’re lecturing EPSpeaks regarding success/failure and attacking it more aggressively on your own blog, which your own post infers is superior and a big success.

If you’re an expert on success and failure, you should also know that success leads to arrogance and arrogance leads to failure, so I suggest that you start choosing your words a little more carefully. You disparage others with words like “chicken shit”, “bullshit”, “lazy”, “stupid” and endless other nasty little things which you post around the websphere. Those are merely the ones you used today. Meanwhile, you tout your own personal superiority with phrases like “I know what I’m talking about”. You might want to look in the mirror and check your own ego at the door before you go into your room to write.

We all need to “refuse the juice” but you need to quit drinking your own kool-aid. You’re not Matt Drudge or Andrew Breitbart. You’re not even a big fish in a little pond. You’re just a guy who mistakenly believes that having a blog or microphone entitles you to be a bully and treat others with disrespect with some profanity thrown in for shock value.

I find it hard to believe that you learned your easy public use of profanity from your parents. If not, you might want to also consider that your behavior dishonors and disrespects them — not just those you attack so gleefully.

The web has an empowered us all. The skills, ability and initiative to create your own blog have given you additional personal power. Since you see yourself as something of a super talent, I’ll leave you with this thought from a super hero: “With great power comes great responsibility.” You have talent. Use it wisely. Right now, whatever knowledge and talent you have is being obscured by your bad, mean-spirited behavior.

      Good luck. Really.

This is the 1st and last time l get “obscene” on this blog, so I won’t blame you if you delete this: Even l’m shocked at how “Dipshit” David Knktjeiummn can be so stupid and delusional with so few words. ‘Making excuses for deleting disagreeable comments.’ Huh? Do you have any proof of this? When was the last time someone commented on your blog that epspeaks deleted their comment? ‘Chicken bloggers fail.’ Fail at what? Oh, you must mean when during the last few years after you would type your usual retarded bullshit about a city official, and there were at least a few times they would call you out on your own blog and you would either ignore them or make-up some lame-ass excuse like ‘Well, l don’t want to meet with them because they’ll…uhmm…well, they’ll just lie. Yeah, that’s it!’ You cowardly imbecile. “If your commenters are hurting your ego, (Once again, no proof. Just more psychotic nonsense.) maybe you ought to rethink your incorrect conspiracy theories.” Hey Dipshit, give us an example of an “incorrect conspiracy theory” that they’ve posted. Hell, give us ANY conspiracy theory that they’ve posted.
    Your daughter deserves better.
