A dollar here, a dollar there

I recently saw an old email from a former city representative who has now been elected to the EPISD school board but has not been seated.  I would mention where I saw it if I could remember.

She was writing about the valuation issue with our local refinery and wrote:

“Western’s value went from $280,224,075 to over a billion dollars in one year. That is about a 200% increase.”

She wants to manage our children’s education?

We deserve better

Can she be any worse that “We won’t know the final figures until we know the final figures” Arrieta?

That same lady on ABC’s Extra segment two weeks ago was discussing CAD ‘s valuation process. During that segment she had the audacity to say that she was a capitalist business woman and sees one of the biggest mistakes made by the City of El Paso is that it is spending more than what the City is taking in from taxes. She was one of the ringleaders that voted to raze City Hall, build the baseball stadium on that site, and buy additional buildings to remodel for the new City Hall departments. I almost choked when I heard her audacious comments. What a hypocrite!

If she is truly a “capitalist business woman,” why is she living off of the taxpayers? City government is not a business … it is a bureaucracy. She should try running a business where she would suffer the consequences of her incompetency and ineptness? Despite her expensive education, which she flouts, she needs to go back to school and take some basic math courses and an ethics course. Her self-proclaimed label of “capitalist business woman” sounds like a line from a political ad. She is either running for office or has her sights set on another government job.
