Taking a chance?

The Paso del Norte Health Foundation has appointed a new CEO according to an article in the Times.

The Times article spoke highly of the new CEO and detailed her past experience.

The Times, however left off part of the new CEO’s resume.  She is a sitting board member of our county hospital and has been since at least 2008.

In other words she has been right in the middle of both messes–the way the Children’s Hospital was setup for failure, and the county hospital’s performance and management issues.

We deserve better

This incestuousness is one of our biggest problems. The same names and faces keep being given the board seats and executive positions in these local organizations. It’s just musical chairs with some people often taking two or more chairs.

They take care of their own… we need to work hard to break up this El Paso mafia – perhaps a state or FBI investigation again??

Seems there would be possible conflict of interest with her holding the two positions.

  4. There are many qualified people in El Paso but they either don’t have the right friends, money or political ties. So, we keep seeing the same people show up everywhere, whether they are qualified for the job or not!
