Feeding Brio

Sun Metro is planning to add bus routes on the west side of El Paso.

The routes will originate at three different Brio stops (Balboa, Resler, and Bartlett), will circulate through the adjacent neighborhoods and then return to their original Brio stop.

The routes will operate from 6 AM to 10 AM and from 3 PM to 7PM Monday through Friday.

The Balboa route will run every 15 minutes:

The Resler route will take 30 minutes to complete:

The Bartlett route will run every 15 minutes:

They would have been better of working with the school districts and other major employers to stagger their schedules to reduce the traffic on the roads.

Speaking of reducing traffic on the roads, it’s insane that they are shutting down a big stretch of I-10 and Paisano tomorrow as a favor to Sunland Park race track and casino. That shows you what a $30,000 political contribution will buy you. They’re killing westside El Paso businesses on the busiest shopping day of the week to help a business in another state. I feel for the people who also have to work tomorrow. Just getting to and from work will be a pain.

Gov Martinez got $30,000 from the Sunland Park Race Track CEO. I wonder how much Abbott was promised. Abbott claims to be anti-gambling, but he is willing to hurt El Paso’s economy the week before Easter to help out a gambling operation that takes money from Texas residents. This is a classic case of hypocrisy in action.

Well there go the streets. These streets were not meant for heavy traffic and are quite useless.

Actually, I think I will try it out. Now a bus runs within a block of my house.

Anon, with the way they repair streets we could be in traffic jams forever. Only city I’ve seen street folks work 8-5, weekends and holidays off. Only city I’ve seen street folks tear up a street and place 3 miles of cones for a block of the street. Then disappear for weeks. Finally, we see one guy slaving and five watching. The rest walking in a circle. If you have seen the movie. “midnight express”, you will recognize the circle walk.

Maybe I am getting the conspiracy disease, it’s almost like they are trying to force people out of their cars. You know, take a bus or rent a bike.

I believe if you saw the meeting you would know that these are being put in place to try to keep car off the road during the anticipated traffic disruptions with I-10 and Border West Expressway coming up for the next few years

. Seems to be a smart anticipatory move. Not suer if you can change westsider’s behaviour tho…

Another waste of tax payer dollars. Ever look into the city buses – either nobody on the bus or a few maids and bums or unemployed that don’t pay taxes. STOP THE FREEBIES!!
