The public seems to know something that our county hospital board does not.
The county hospital administrator announced that he would not renew his contract somewhere around October of last year. They successfully have stalled the effort to replace him and just gave him a four month extension.
On the other hand the site designed to gain public support to keep him looked like this the other day:
It shows 68 signatures after six months.

The UMC Board is has known since last October that Valenti was leaving and they didn’t start looking for a CEO until January of this year. They actually expect us to believe that the 4 month extension was out of necessity and not out of poor planning.

It wasn’t poor planning. They knew exactly what they were doing. They were keeping Valenti on board longer so that he could receive additional pay. It wouldn’t surprise me to learn that the extension also enabled him to draw a higher pension.
