Pretending to care

Please read David K’s post.

Our current congressman could have done more to help a situation that he evidently feels passionately about if he had worked on writing legislation to make the changes he wants.

What he did was grandstanding in my book.

We deserve better

Good point. Beto would rather complain than do something through legislation. Beto would rather show up for photo op after photo op than do the difficult work of finding a solution.

How far do you think he could get with republicans in charge?

Sorry that you want to give legs to this nasty column. All these personal attacks – from both sides – do absolutely nothing to help resolve the broken immigration “system.”

Our current congressman has done nothing for this district ever. Any appropriations we have received in El Paso would have com better if the sun rose or set without any effort from him. Our current congressman has family support and party support and the support of the informed El Paso Times and USA TODAY Network. He does not meet with people or groups for hard questions. How much time has he spent in DC representing us as he has visited every county in the State of Texas?

This is just willful ignorance. Beto has had at least one town hall meeting a month while in office. You were able to attend any of them and ask him about whatever is on your mind. That you chose not to is on you, not him. And ironic on a post bitching about someone who allegedly talks and doesn’t take action.

For David K to call someone else a grandstander is at best humorous. The guy is a a staff lobbyist for a healthcare insurance company, so he is anything but objective in his criticism of legislators. I don’t know why Brutus wants to give DK space on this blog.

David K’s current employment doesn’t diminish his point.

Disgusted’s post also suggests his lack of understanding that David K is not elected to represent the public, unlike Robert.

Beto has done little or nothing to solve the veterans problems, something he promised to do when he was elected. His best hope in staying in DC forever is to win a seat in the Senate. He likes hob nobbing with the big boys.
His stance on foreign affairs also leaves much to be desired.

If El Pasoans — or Texans — think he can solve the immigration problem, just refer to how little he has done to help veterans.

  9. And, right here is a perfect example of why we can’t have nice things in El Paso! First of all, Brutus, what, exactly, do you think he could have done by way of “writing legislation” that would or could have any impact on immigration?! What chance has any legislation coming from his side of the aisle got in a GOP controlled Congress? As for all of you who a slamming Beto here, show us some proof of your various spurious allegations, or think about what he has done as compared to his predecessors. Then, try to make your claims. Y’all should be ashamed of yourselves. Helen Marshall, Anonymous, Find Hope, and Dan Wever appear to be the only ones here capable of critical thinking.

Here he goes again. Looks like the same ploy as his VA stunt. Look at the changes of the VA he made. The wonderful legislation he didn’t pass. In fact he did nothing but vote as a Pelosi Puppet during his term. Not one piece of legislation. Now let’s look at his City term. He was a Wilson Puppet; “Take down the City”, responsible for bike lanes in a mountenous city that are not used destroy car lanes.
