City council has the water park issue on their agenda this morning (Tuesday, October 30, 2018).
Three of the city representatives are up for re-election next week.
Will council take action on the issue or will they postpone this in an effort to avoid voter reaction?
We deserve better

I have to restrict my front yard watering, (until it turns to dust) and the CITY has plenty of water to just spray in the air and amuse people with ? How fun !
Our underground water and wells takes YEARS to replenish itself.
Elephant Butte lake / dam is almost empty.
I’ll bet they postpone it until after the elections.
Or. . . they know that almost no one is reading the news, so they’ll do whatever the hell they want. The few people that come to City Hall will not change THEIR election or re-election at all.
They might as well have brought wet suits or water noodles and swimming fins with them to wave about after completely dismissing anything anyone says or points out.
(Like they did with ALREADY having Baseball Caps to put on after dismissing everything everyone said during the Baseball Stadium vote.)

80,000 early registered voters already cast, I don’t think anyone is worried about this affecting any outcome that’s basically already done.

No, they probably want to get it done before the impact of that election is felt. This many people showing up to vote is a sign that folks don’t like this council’s agenda.

With the arrogance of these people, would look for them to hurry up a vote, to get something else THEY want and get it around any opposition by US. Hopefully next week, voters will decide to FIRE the three up for re-election. THEY don’t represent US, THEY represent only themselves and whatever THEY can get, take from US. If my District 4 Rep were running, I would vote against him. Leave them in office and THEY will take it as approval to screw over US. WE deserve better. WE can do better.

Svarzbein has already made it know that he plans to support the Wolf deal, so I voted against him yesterday.

Me, too. He loves these big picture projects in which the bill is passed to the taxpayer.

I believe that any council member who has received campaign funding from Mr. Foster should recuse themselves from any vote on this land swap issue. It gives a tremendous appearance of potential for conflict of interest.

Well said. Unfortunately, I suspect they are pretty much all in that position.

Too late, John H. THEY don’t represent US and in El Taxo WE have no say, no vote. The best that WE can do is vote THREE of THEM out next week, get rid of their arrogance, insolence. El Taxo, inherent corruption.

There wouldn’t be enough reps left for an official vote

Read carefully. The Wolf deal is as bad and maybe even worse than the ballpark deal. In addition to the questionnable real estate swap and the giveaway of tens of millions of tax dollars, it puts the city on the hook for an additional $40 million if the State chooses not to kick in money. Svarzbein and others have been bought. Watch where his income comes from after he leaves office.
