Everyone running before and now. . . complete amateurs.
All of them . . . PRETENDING they know what to do.
Fakers and swami’s .
Like people just adding to their Resume’s with false claims they know will never be checked.
A City Council bought and paid for…Svarzbein got nearly $30K in the runoff period, with Hunt, Foster, Jobe, the mayor, etc. ponying up. As if the $82K he got before the general election was not enough!
It’s not that good people won’t run. It’s that good people able to outspend the donor owned candidates won’t run. And now the college students who rushed out to vote for Beto have given these clowns a blank check on raises (if the county’s activities on supposedly market-based compensation is any indication).
The wholesale rape of El Paso will continue. My representative, Peter Svarzbein, is the poster child for bad governance. Sadly, his opponent was no better. I don’t have any solutions. I’m in my late 60s and I’d hoped for better. But no dice. My property tax bill now officially looks like a mortgage payment.
How do you know she was no better? Maybe if she’d had some of the $110K-plus contributions that Svarzbein had, she would have been able to put her ideas out in public with more fanfare.
It was expected. Challengers were extremely weak on policy and had no platform to speak of.
We need better.

What are the rules regarding use of leftover campaign funds? I would love to know where all of Svarzbein’s campaign money goes.
