Such a waste of TAXPAYER money. Think of how much money the TAXPAYERS would have saved if the Cohen had just been renovated. Eliminate traffic congestion. Loop 635 all the way to the East side, connect with I-10, then West, over the mountain to I-10. U.S 54 from I-10, all the way North, up into New Mexico. So what does El Paso get? Because of pay off, kick backs, bribes, the local politicians FORCE, scam the TAXPAYERS into building the politicians, Mountain Star Sports ball field downtown. Traffic congestion, no parking. A multi-million$$$ albatross around the necks of TAXPAYERS that THEY will never pay off or ever see a dime of benefit, profit over the continuing cost.

And it’s not too late…or shouldn’t be…to make Cohen Stadium the venue for soccer…easy acess from Juárez for Mexican fans, and all the other selling points noted. Instead we get a SURFING park? Let’s hope it at least uses some of that “Toilet to Tap” fluid that will be filling our faucets soon.

The solicitation has been out there for a while seeking bidders. Can’t be surprised that the item is on the agenda. But, what a waste.
