Follow up on campaign event costs

Back on April 29 ABC-7 reported that our city government had billed the Trump campaign $470,417.05 for services rendered during the president’s recent campaign event in El Paso.

They further reported:

ABC-7 is continuing to obtain more documents on the cost of President Trump’s rally, as well as Beto O’Rourke’s campaign kick-off event in March.

Has anyone heard anything?

We deserve better

Yes, they just posted a story with links yesterday. Here is the kicker. Beto’s rally is billed police time the way all events are normally billed. For the Trump rally, they calculated costs based on a FEMA reimbursement schedule so his rally is billed for salaries plus all costs associated with any equipment used at FEMA rates. That includes equipment like ambulances, SWAT, fire engines that were placed in standby mode. And since FEMA reimbursement rates don’t reflect actual cost it explains why the police bill is almost as high as the city budget for a complete day of all police department costs. But KVIA didn’t figure that out, they just mentioned the difference was because more police officers were required for the Trump event. They also haven’t gotten documents to see if the Catholic Church was billed for the city security provided during the Pope’s event which had similar levels of security planning.

Well of course the Democrat-run sanctuary city of El Taxo will charge President Trump MORE, because he has MORE and the local politicos don’t like him. Apparently Beto already blew the 80-100 MILLIONS$$$ he collected from OUT of state, OUT of the country and El Taxo has to give him a very big “Discounted” rate. Besides, how much could 25-50 Illegals walking around with Mexican Flags, smoking pot, cost? Apparently NO cost for Police there.

Yes, by all means let’s talk about blowing through money.

In 1985, Trump reported losses of $46.1 million from his core businesses — largely casinos, hotels and retail space in apartment buildings. They continued to lose money every year, totaling $1.17 billion in losses for the decade.

Year after year, Mr. Trump appears to have lost more money than nearly any other individual American taxpayer. His core business losses in 1990 and 1991 — more than $250 million each year — were more than double those of the nearest taxpayers in the I.R.S. information for those years.

And throughout all of that time, he stiffed a lot of suppliers, ordinary, hard-working folks.

As for illegals, Trump has employed his share of undocumented immigrants at his resorts and golf courses. They only recently terminated a lot of them.

    • $102 Million for Golf says:

Donald Trump’s golf habit has already cost taxpayers at least $102 million in extra travel and security expenses, and next month will achieve a new milestone: a seven-figure presidential visit to another country so he can play at his own course.

U.S. taxpayers have spent $81 million for the president’s two dozen trips to Florida. They spent $17 million for his 15 trips to New Jersey, another $1 million so he could visit his resort in Los Angeles and at least $3 million for his two days in Scotland last summer ― $1.3 million of which went just for rental cars for the massive entourage that accompanies a president abroad.

The $102 million total to date spent on Trump’s presidential golfing represents 255 times the annual presidential salary he volunteered not to take.

Good thing Obama hated golf and Hawaii and Michelle didn’t have an entourage that wanted to jet set to Europe and have an over the top vacay. Oh wait, they did all that.

According to Judicial Watch, a conservative legal groupo, former President Barack Obama’s family travels cost the U.S. a total of $114 million during his 8-year presidency. Trump has spent nearly that much in less than three years.

Last night KVIA had a report on Trump and O’Rourke rallies. Neither campaign has paid,
Problem the only sum for Mr,O’Rourke was for the kick off of his campaign down town .
No mention was made of the expense for his rally across from the County Coliseum the night of Trump’s rally.
Guess Robert Francis O’Rourke piggy backed on the security for the presidential visit and had no expenses or did our local press forget he held a competing rally?

But getting back to main point, why are we not concerned that our local den of corruption is once again giving EP a black eye by padding a campaign bill. And once, again, how much did the Catholic Church pay? Someone who worked that event commented on the KVIA site that security arrangements here for the Pope were even bigger than for Trump’s rally. That would have been totally unnecessary if the Pope hadn’t decided to stage an open border event at the border. The total silence on this makes me wonder if EP billed anything.

  5. Trump Campaign Scamming Cities says:

The Center for Public Integrity has released a report saying that, despite Trump’s frequent statements about supporting police, he has not paid at least 10 cities for the public-safety costs of his rallies. In Lebanon, Ohio, Trump asked his crowd “Do we love law enforcement or what?” But the president’s campaign did not respond to an invoice totaling nearly $16,200 in public safety costs deriving from that event.
