That seems like a strange quote for father’s day.
Growing up, my neighbor’s had a father who beat and otherwise abused his children on a daily basis. He beat his wife, too.
There is a lot more to being a father than just being present.

I’m waiting for the PC Police to complain that Father’s Day is discriminatory toward those who aren’t fathers but would be if they could, females who identify as fathers, those who choose not to be fathers…
I lucked out. My kids turned out great, actually like me and give me credit for all kinds of stuff I never really did! I’m not talking, let them believe what they will 🙂

My father passed away three years ago. He left me a decent-sized inheritance, but l immediately realized that in all good conscience, that l will not spend this $ on myself. So, when it’s my turn to go to the ‘happy hunting grounds’ the wealth will be liquefied and distributed to charities. l suppose this is a feeble attempt on my part to “compensate” for being a half-assed son.
He deserved better.
