There were some questions last week about the contract between the city and the group that owns the Chihuahuas.

This post from some time back will provide some details

I never quite understood the parking arrangement. Does Mountainstar control revenue from all downtown parking spaces? Or only during a game?

Mountainstar controls the revenue and the priority for all city owned parking space near the stadium during games. It’s why we stopped going to the symphony. We weren’t season ticket holders- they still have access to the Civic Center garage. One time my handicapped husband had to walk from the Union Station parking garage all the way to the Plaza theatre because everything closer was full. We decided that day that we would never go to another downtown event if a game was on. I think I’ve been downtown two times in the last six years. It’s probably better now because the stands over there look pretty empty every time KVIA shows clips of ball games.
