Politics as usual

I can’t help but wonder how much money the city is going to spend for outside lawyers because of city council’s decision to call a special election to replace one of the city representatives.

Our mayor seems to be leading the charge on this.

Will he and his group come up with a candidate to fill this seat.

Is this about what’s right (did she commit an act that caused her automatic resignation) or about getting a supporting vote on city council?

Or is it about both?

Either way it looks like this will cost us more money.

We deserve better

As a non-binary transgender of indeterminate age, I will seek to run for the position being vacated by Cassandra Hernandez.

I could just claim my right to the position as I feel that I am an El Paso City Council Representational Entity. Waiting for a vote would be unnecessary.

Saving the taxpayer’s money already! Orale, El Chuco!

Yeah, they will undoubtedly use outside counsel, and then spend even more of our few dollars on court costs.

Just another incident of inherent corruption with Hizoner the Mayor, Clown Council, Town “Manager”. EVERYTHING this bunch does is just to take MORE and MORE from US. Bend over taxpayers, working people, hold onto your wallet, brace yourselves, here it comes AGAIN. The ONLY people that TAXES do NOT effect are the Mayor, Clown Council and the idle RICH here that OWN them.

County Commissioners just increased our property tax 8.5%

And they also gave themselves a huge raise from $93,000 to $114,000.

They decided they should only make 20% less than other County Commissioners who live in much bigger districts with more responsibility and a much larger tax base.

They now are paying themselves more than 3 times the median salary in El Paso. The City Council has more responsibility and the are paid $51K the national average for a family of 4.

Vince Perez cannot admit he is giving himself an outrageous raise again.

He says people should understand it is the office getting paid not the person and yet somehow he expects us to overlook the fact that the check is deposited into his personal bank account.

Everyone of them should be voted out of office. Both Perez and Leon are on the ballot this time and hopefully voters kick them both to the curb.
