Who are we giving to?

DavidK over at Refuse the Juice wrote this piece the other day.

It explains a lot about our lack of influence in congress.

We deserve better

Who is always crying about the influence of money in politics? Politics is about nothing but money, and ANYONE who seeks office does it for person gain and glory. That means there are no heros in politics. None. Escobar has already demonstrated locally her ability to lie, cheat and steal. Now she will try to take that to another level, but will find out she is surrounded by other people just like her.

I, too, applaud Beto for his stance, and his successes! And, I think it is shitty that people who get elected for a very short two-year term should have to spend all of their time raising campaign funding. We do need to get the money our of the game, and that means overturning citizens united and outlawing lobbying of any kind! And, before you start whining about it is only the one party that does this, take another look, because they both do this wrong.

David K was home schooled on the subject of money in politics. His parents are big contributors to Margo’s re-election campaign.

Why worry, just take heart in that old Merle Haggard song:

“Eatin’ rainbow stew in a silver spoon,
    Underneath that sky of blue.
    All be drinkin’ free bubble-up,
    An’ eatin’ that rainbow stew.”

Shit man, life is good! Just ask ‘Big Bird.’
