Money grows on trees and our streets are paved with gold.

The money spent on art on Airways and at the intersection of of I-10 and Airways in recent years is intended to make travelers think that El Paso is something that it is not.

Actually, I think what we call “art” on Airway pretty tells travelers exactly what kind of City we are: a hick border town that overuses bright colored LED displays to distract from crumbling infrastructure.

Liberals place a high value on art as an indicator of intelligence. They completely disregard the fact that art is subjective.

For example, I think the art on Airway is stupid, it doesn’t “speak” to me at all, so why is it there?

Because some liberal thinks it makes a statement. That’s why.

Like the “Cloud” at UTEP, completely ridiculous piece of “art”.

Everything you dislike isn’t a function of liberals. What even makes you think that you know what all liberals think about every subject or issue? Even some liberals don’t like the art on Airways or at UTEP; some don’t even care about art. If people would take time to really listen to other people instead of making assumptions and labeling others, they might find they actually have some common ground.

Are you implying that the art on Airway was put their by local conservative politicians?

Please provide some evidence of that assertion. I’ll wait…

Is the $750,000 just for the artist or does that also include installation? What about maintenance? This price tag is most likely just the beginning for this project.
