El Diario

With the El Paso Times conveniently evading the presentation of El Paso City Council shenanigans, the source of information about their doings today is the Juarez Diario Paper.

If you recall, Brutus in Train Wreck April 5, 2013, delineated the “make up” deal the City was forced into because some genius forgot that we didn’t own “all” the land required for the already $120 million invested or committed, Ball Park.  It seems the Railroad owns 8,680 square feet of the proposed location. What businessman would let this happen?  Works with other people’s money, and long employment contracts and a bunch of “d____ies”.   Is this news, Mr El Paso Times Editor Sportswriter?

Well to the rescue, our courageous Council approached the Railroad on bended knee to clear up this miscue.  Traded equivalent of 2 city lots at $27.50 a sq.ft from RR. for 2 adjacent acres for $11.10 a sq.ft.. to RR.  Not bad when u are on 1 bended knee.  Then the kicker: Pow!! Close nine Railroad crossings throughout the city.  On your Hands and knees!  This got pushed through Council in consecutive two weeks with little or no discussion.  No contract, you say . Leave it up to the Miscuer Manager.  We do as she tells us!  Consult with citizens?  Involved property owners?  Worry about School kids?  School Districts?

( Hey, we know better.  We are the progressives.  Please re-elect us).

Did you read about it in the El Paso Times?  Where was our clever Sportswriter Editor?  Isn’t this news.?

The Ysleta Independent School District (YSID) got wind of the Street closures from the El Paso Journal investigating their impact. The YSID Board had an emergency meeting. They knew nothing of the street closures which would cause severe difficulty School Buses with getting kiddos to school among other things. (Take them out to the Ballgame instead, you idiot! Buy them some peanuts and….).

The Water District found out they wouldn’t be able to distribute water to now isolated houses. (Dig them Wells).  Were they consulted?  informed?  Is this news Mr. Joe?

I learned about this in the April 18th, 2013, Juarez Diario News. (from Ms S Ayalla’s facebook page)

Still nothing in the Times.  They ignore the Emergency meeting but today they did report yesterday’s meeting about maintenance problems.  Great stuff.  Two big columns.

I think by now we all know that the El Paso Times which is shrinking in size, circulation and information,  is careful about what they say about the City Council.  Why, I wonder?  In the meantime,  look at Diario.

Yes, Cicero, I think we all know by now that the Times was quieted by Ms Wilson and Council when they learned that the Times Building would be bought by the City for it’s new “temporary” City Hall. The Times appears to have put a gag order on it’s reporters to assure the deal would go thru, while the Times’ reporters shed favorable light on the queen and her court. We need El Diario to put out an English version of their paper and begin some serious investigative reporting…..after all, we KNOW there is a lot of dirt to uncover in this hotbed of corruption.

It’s interesting to note that Steve Ortega (Mr. Progressive) is running on a platform of being one of the folks on Council who knew that the City Hall/ballpark issue would be controversial, but he was courageous and made the tough decision to tear down City Hall. Anyone with a lick of common sense and business background knows this was an idiotic concept…..yes I think the queen was hellbent on tearing down this City Hall with the ballpark as her excuse. A former city employee who worked with Ms
Wilson confided to me that her (Ms Wilson’s) dream was to have a state of the art new city hall built in the future, and that it would be named the Joyce Wilson City Hall Building! This all makes sense when one looks at the team of worker bees that Ms Wilson has accumulated on City Council. On top of that, the EP Times has become the unrefuted voice for the so-called progressives who seem eager to lead us down the road of Stockton, CA. That city is now bankrupt, taxes are high, businesses are shutting down, and the innocent taxpayers are only getting “pennies on the dollar” for their homes as they try to leave Stockton.

Yes, we deserve better. Let’s remember who got us into this mess and vote them out on election day.

Steve ortega reveaked in an e-mail to his master Joyce that Bob Moore and Darren Hunt had agreed to do pr on one particular issue months before they blew up city hall. The local media’s selling out is not new. Let’s just pray that nefarious forces dont succeed in silencing El Diario. Those journalists have faced violent drug cartels and lost some of its own professionals and theyve gone against big and powerful interests in Juarez (including the family of one of Mountain Star’s owners. So we know theyre a courages bunch full of integrity. None-the-less, they need support.

desertratjim: If you think the city hall name is “fact,” I would hate to see what you call rumor! There is absolutely NO TRUTH to your statement. I guarantee it. Check your “facts.”

Dear El Pasoan, I guess you have been privy to every conversation Ms Wilson has had with her staff since she became City Mgr. Unless your name is Joyce Wilson, that seems like an impossibility. Suffice it to say that my source was personally told this by Ms Wilson and your advice to check my facts has been reconfirmed, and to you I say, take your own advice.

DesertJim: You heard this from someone who heard it. That is a rumor, not a fact. It is twice removed from the source. You would flunk journalism as you confuse fact with rumor.
