Serendipity

The El Paso Times is not pulling its punches.

Yesterday’s front page said it all.

Mr. Progressive Ortega’s continence dominated the front page, just below the Headlines, Mayoral Election.  Four other minor candidates are sitting in the background listening to his every word. Again just below the photo, Mr. Ortega is mentioned 6 times including his recent support of the Baseball stadium before any of the other candidates are named. Seven candidates were mentioned in 50 words or less before being relegated to page 9A. “Very convenient, my dear Watson“.

Seems the “Ortega for Mayor” and the El Paso Times offices are both at 500 W. Overland, all be it different suites, 250 and 150.  With all the vacancies Downtown, you would think a progressive….Stop with the Sherlock!!

Coincidence?

I’ve said enough. What do you think, Brutus?

M. T. Cicero

Talk about getting scooped! I guess the fact that you are older (106BC vs 85BC) should have given me a clue.

The Times piece was blatant. I guess it will be easy to predict who they will endorse.

The campaign office and the newspaper being in the same building is hard to believe but unfortunately true. You would think that they would at least try to look independent.

How did the campaign office end up in the same building with the Times? The Times does not own the building, they are leasing. Could it be that the candidate wanted to be near the city media outlet? Or could it be that the building owners wanted to return a big favor? They were huge beneficiaries of the city hall situation.

This will probably end up being proper and legal on paper, but will still stink to high heaven.

You are right, the situation is now very clear.

Cicero is 100% correct. I thought the exact same thing when I saw Ortega front and center in the photo, but Cicero did the full analysis.

Any doubt that the ept conspires with the political faction to push its agenda. According to Steve’s e-mail it appears Bob Moore and Darren Hunt agree to do his pr at least on one campaign against private citizens. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=522133254495751&set=pb.389125324463212.-2207520000.1366738206.&type=3&theater
