Times picks its words

Wouldn’t it have been more clear for the Times to have written “A chartered school bus”?

We deserve better

It is possible someone is trying to distinguish between apples and oranges without succeeding. Charter has to do with ownership and contracts. School bus refers to a type of bus which has been observed repeatedly as unsafe of highways.Perhaps this was the result of the combined efforts of a lawyer and a school publicist which was just copied in toto by the Times.

I’m actually more saddened by the fact that they misspelled “kills”, especially in a heading! Headings should definitely be verified. Spell check should have caught it as well. Sad.
