This chart comes from EPISD web site. It tells us which groups are going to move downtown and how many people are employed in each group:
If the new central office only ends up costing us $40 million as has been reported they will be spending over $100,000 per employee for office space.
We deserve better

EPISD, Cabrera continue to be just one big toilet bowl for flushing TAXPAYERS money. With that almost BILLON$$$ Bond slush fund, HE, EPISD minions will continue the waste, tax, spend, tax some more. WE buy THEM expensive birthday cakes, do we buy lunch now, pay for after work Bar sessions, setting up drinks for everybody. EPISD, Cabrer is an albatross around the neck of El Taxo taxpayers. WE need to cut our losses, BEFORE we create another Lorenzo Garcia. If somebody else will pay an unqualified Superintendent HALF-MILLION$$$ year, let him go find it.

In fairness, don’t you have to amortize the building cost over 20 years. That would make it about $5,000 per year per employee or a little over $400 per month.

Amazing that EPISD, Cabrera can just blow off this much TAXPAYER money and think NOTHING about it. All this WASTE for a SPACE for a desk, chair, waste basket and coffee cup. Outrageous.

In fairness, isn’t the price of a building, including remodeling, calculated based on square footage not occupants? Seems like a little bit of bias being used to prove a point.

Years ago EPISD had offices downtown…and it was a complete disaster….don’t they ever learn? … those that do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it!
