EPISD–Burnett Elementary

According to an article in The El Paso Times the EPISD board of trustees voted to close Burnett Elementary in a board meeting the other day.

Not being familiar with the situation we don’t know if that is a good idea or not.

We do have a question about the process however.

Did the district inform the public about their intention to close the school?

We deserve better

    EPISD made it know months ago that Burnet was on a list of schools that might be closed. That list was presented at a presentation to nearly 100 people, including parents. That possibility was widely publicized by the media mid-year last year. The parents had their chance to rally support to keep it open.
