Things are quiet at the county hospital

We don’t hear much about our county hospital lately.

Could it be that we have an honest, competent administrator over there now?

We deserve better

No active campaigning, so back under the rug.

Maybe he got ANOTHER pay INCREASE? It’s difficult to believe that ANY “Administrator” of ANYTHING in El Paso is “Competent, honest”.

By keeping UMC out of the news, county commissioners can let the hospital continue to grow and expand, as we’ve seen with the area clinics. Last year UMC bought that old motel near the Southwest corner of I-10 and Reynolds for another clinic.

Since UMC is an independent entity of the County, the only way to limits tax increases is through the county commissioner, who continue to let UMC grow.

Yes, my guess too is taxpayers will be treated to another UMC property tax increase.

    This is good news

UMC might not have to subsidize EPCH as much since EPCH was able to renegotiate higher Medicaid reimbursement rates for their services.

EPCH announced they were able reach a fair agreement on reimbursement rates with Superior that allows EPCH to continue to be in-network

If they had not reached an agreement children on Medicaid’s “Superior Health Plan” may no longer have been able to get specialized treatment at El Paso Children’s Hospital (EPCH).

Contract negotiations between EPCH and Superior were in jeopardy after the two entities failed to come to an agreement on the March 21 deadline.

A hospital and medical school next to an oil refinery. Ironical.
