And this is surprising, why? In observing the BOT for EPISD since 2003, I’ve found none of the trustees did it because they were concerned about education, none of them were above steering contracts to friends, relatives, acquaintances; all of them had either an axe to grind with a particular schools’ administration or were using the “vaunted” position as a bullet point in their political resume. Honesty? Elected position? El Paso? I am rolling on the floor laughing.
Thanks to the union, EPISD retirees have great retirement benefits, which is more than most private sector workers cans say. If I worked for Cabrera & Company, I would want representation.
Only after having their hand forced by the Times freedom of information request, EPID admits that Loweree was never employed as a teacher, but they say she did apply for a position as a playground monitor.

Same applies to the teacher union bosses over the years as well. They are in it for themselves as well.

You do realize those benefits are statewide and not just for EPISD even though I am sure Ross claims it was because of him.

I just wish that she would face this issue openly once and for all. I’ve heard rumors that there was a maiden name involved, but no public statements.
