Most likely the training will be focused on how to line the pockets of your friends while appearing to comply with law and use Roberts Rules of Order to shut down inconvenient discussions in public meetings. Although after our local school official dust up, maybe there will be session on the evils of public drunkenness in fast food parking lots.

I have said it before and will say it again, what we need are more democrats in office
at least then we know that we will always pay the maximum in taxes and fees while learning to expect a minimum in return. we can become like Detroit, Flint or Baltimore. our income levels are already far below those two cities, our schools are already heading in that direction so our children will barely be able to read in the next decade or two, our streets are in bad shape and our neighborhoods are in decline. there is little hope that new business will come here and create new jobs. any business that does come here gets such heavy tax breaks they become a burden on existing taxpayers instead of a plus for the community.
what we need are more democrats in office so people can stop expecting things will get better
oh, and of course, we need an arena and we should give control of it to the wealthiest people in town

The people who are pushing and benefiting most from a lot of the tax spending are people like Woody Hunt and Paul Foster, both died-in-the-wool republicans. We do not have a party problem. We have a bigger problem. Our elected officials and city management are working for special interests. One thing that politicians from both parties share is a love of money and power. They are all playing to the power and money in El Paso. You’re going to get the same result regardless who you elect here in El Paso. Case in point is Margo, another hardline Republican who is carrying on previous administrations’ work on behalf of developers. You included a link to the Great Wolf Lodge story. Look who benefited from the land swap in that deal –––– Paul Foster. They have us exactly where they want us. We’re bickering about labels while they are robbing us blind. Find a way to check the influence of a few wealthy individuals and you will have solved the problem.Until then, get ready to pay for the next thing that Mountainstar wants.

Actually, we’re not bickering about labels. Only one who constantly harps on the false claim that Democrats are responsible for El Paso’s free spending Council is that unknown entity who choose to remain ‘anónimo’

I don’t think the City Manager is qualified to be leading this effort – it’s kind of like the Catholic clergy trying to reform themselves. Sometimes big change has to come from outside. Our city leaders need an intervention. Maybe the FBI needs to come back and do a little more corruption investigating?

Exactly. The FBI, Texas DPS, Criminal Investigations needs a permanent Field Office in City Hall. The same is true at EPISD. An FBI office right next to Cabrera’s DESK. Inherent Public Corruption. The only thing that EVER changes in El Taxo is the names of the people who TAKE from US. Just one big criminal empire. Margo MAY be a Republican, but he had no balls to stand up to the anti-Trump radicals and say” The President is coming to El Paso, we will act CIVILIZED and welcome him.” But instead he turned on his Lib “charm”, because the DemoRat slime, Escobar, O’Roark were WATCHING him. But, but, “WE will tell the President (That we don’t like) that WE want HIM to send money to El Taxo. Apparently the City, taxpayers, Margo will need a lot of MONEY to put gas in all those Patrol vehicles that have been taken out of the parking lots, garages, storage. Before the massacre of innocent citizens brought them out, there were few to no Police on the streets of El Taxo.

It’s kind of hard to imagine the City Manager, the Mayor, ANY politician, public officials in El Paso conducting “ETHICS, INTEGRITY” training. THEY “represent” only themselves and whatever THEY can take from US. The first lesson should be, “What is ETHICS? What is INTEGRITY”? Guess they will have to hire a “Million$$$$ Consultant” from outside of El Taxo to conduct the “Training”.
