elpasomatters.org

elpasomatters.org is up and running.

The organization is led by the former executive editor of The El Paso Times.

It will be interesting to see if his editorial slant remains the same or if the El Paso Community Foundation will influence his writing.

Hopefully he will write as an objective journalist and clearly label his writing as opinion when he takes sides.

We welcome the new organization.  Look to Mr.  Moore to be effective in getting information through open records requests.

We deserve better

lol. sure, bob moore will now act as a disinterested observer and report only the facts. he had plenty of opportunity at the ep times to demonstrate journalistic integrity yet refused to do so. but now…

Bobo Moore spent years sucking on the Elliot Shapleigh teat and all of his followers, including Suzy Byrd and Beto. He always was looking for ways to become connected to the power elite in El Paso. When Shapleigh’s star faded, he was left floundering, especially after he couldn’t use the idiot Lorenzo Garcia as his punching bag. I guess now he’s found a way to relight his candle. He never was unbiased. Why should it start now?

Actually it was the Times under Moore that did the investigative reporting that led to the feds’ EPISD corruption investigation and indictments.

        No.
The FBI acknowledged a counselor from Bowie for reporting the problem which led to the investigation.

They even gave her a courage award which Bob Moore buried in the bowels of the EP Times about the same time he credited Shapleigh and his own “intrepid” reporting on the front page.

Moore and Shapleigh are total scum.

Taking credit for the significant risk someone else took.

Bob Moore was not given that much opportunity to “demonstrate journalistic integrity,” nor did he “refuse” to do so. You do not understand the pressures put on the local guy by corporate, if you believe that. Meanwhile, I see that this first issue already tells us about more bad news for the Tiguas and Speaking Rock. Welcome to “El Paso Matters.”

Given that his intro: https://elpasomatters.org/2020/02/14/why-el-paso-matters-is-launching-here-and-now/ totally avoids discussion of EP’s high tax rate and huge debt accumulation under the challenge, I’m guessing we won’t see investigative reporting in that area.

Is Mr. Moore trying to atone for years of supporting El Paso’s reverse Robin Hood economy and government? OK, everyone gets a second chance so let’s let him have one and see how it unfolds.

One reason things in El Paso are the way they are is because so many people just want to bitch and find fault.
