EPISD bonds–requirements

The ballot item relating to the bonds reads like this:

“THE ISSUANCE OF BONDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $668,695,577 FOR THE CONSTRUCTION, RENOVATION, DEMOLITION, AND EQUIPMENT OF SCHOOL BUILDINGS AND SCHOOL FACILITIES, INCLUDING TECHNOLOGY IMPROVEMENTS, SAFETY AND SECURITY IMPROVEMENTS, SCHOOL RECONSTRUCTION, RENOVATIONS TO EXISTING FACILITIES AND ATHLETIC FACILITIES IMPROVEMENTS; THE PURCHASE OF NECESSARY SITES FOR SCHOOL BUILDINGS; THE PURCHASE OF NEW SCHOOL BUSES; AND THE LEVYING OF THE TAX IN PAYMENT THEREOF”

This is what the ballot commits them to.

No length of time, no interest rate range, no specific projects.

We deserve better

We deserve to know the names of the people on the list of salaries that have increased so much. Why are you protecting them Dan?

Gradually milking the well more and more as much as possible until somebody says: ENOUGH! Ridiculous raises these are!!! 10, 20, 30, 40, up to 60+G’s ??? I never got raises like that in my 30 years of service.

The mailers keep referring to “safety,” another time-warn mantra that skirts the truth. There is nothing in their mailers about the cost. Taxpayers should be told — clearly — what they’re going to be paying if they vote yes. Their mailers are a form of deception, I’m hating this bond issue more every day.

  6. Just tax, waste, spend, tax some more, because they can get away with it. Nothing but more inherent corruption with these people at EPISD and NOTHING will make them any better by US giving them this BILLION$$$$$ slush fund. Homeowners are the ONLY people who are FORCED to pay for all the “stuff” they want. Taxed Enough Already, too much. No more.

There has been talk about never having enough money to fix the buildings because there was not enough money for this budget item. I would like to show you something about salaries in the EPISD. Below are the 9 year raises of the Daily paid (administrators) These raises include promotions, upgrades, extra day in work year. There are of course many of them that have taken their extra large raises and retired that are not on this list. These are people that were working in 2005-2006 and 2014-2015 or 9 years with the EPISD. The teachers in this time frame earned less than $16,000 on the average. Remember these figures are not salary but the raise this person got in the 9 years. So maybe you can now understand why no money was available to fix the buildings and also why the EPISD teachers have fallen to the bottom of area teacher salaries.

The above numbers are each the raises that a single employee got during a 9 year term. The teachers during this time frame got less than 16,000 dollars in the same 0 years.
