What should we make of the fact that several of our local officials read the local blogs and do not take steps to fix the problems that are pointed out?
Do they really think that we will forget?
We deserve better

Good morning. I scan through your blog on a daily basis and have in the past directed your concerns with our city manager. Keep us on our toes.

Ms. Limon,
Okay, since we now know that the city manager is being told about our concerns posted on this blog, what is the city manager’s response when you share our concerns? Or does he even respond at all? I would like an honest answer to this question.

Yes, Ms. Limon has done as she says.

It is nice to see that Ms. Limon, for one, is paying attention, but I suspect most of them easily dismiss us out of hand.

No, it’s not that they think we will forget. They just don’t care because there is no recourse until the next election, except in the case of the city manager, who doesn’t really care because he feels no responsibility or accountability to taxpayers. His attempt to float another $40 million in debt without a vote proves my point.

BTW, when we taxpayers complain about street conditions, we aren’t asking for LED lights, painted medians, public art and landscaping. We simply want well-paved roads without potholes and ideally with good drainage. Given the severity of our road quality issues in many neighborhoods, I think it would be great if the City got back to basics and just gave us good roads because all the other crap takes away funding from that basic service.

They are trying to sprinkle pixie dust on deep-rooted problems; or as some would say, paint stripes on a pony and call it a zebra. All this superficial stuff is purely to make themselves feel good about living in a city that is not cosmopolitan enough for them. We would be better off if they would just leave.

Now that would be called a horse of a different color by elected officials in the progressive wonderland of El Taxo Texas. ;O)

My biggest disappointment is Peter Svarzbein who made great promises and we waited and waited…. Being friends of his Dad and a colleague, I thought he’d have the fire of his Father. No change from the last rep. Just go with the flow. Barrow and spend . Forget the Citizens needs; streets, streets, streets… Build a Ballpark and a arena for a few.

I agree. He is my rep and the streets in our district are as bad as it gets. The Peter Principle applies.
