Children’s hospital fate being discussed

There has been considerable speculation about the financial fate of our children’s hospital lately.

At the November 14, 2017 meeting of the county hospital’s board of managers there was supposed to be a financial report from the new children’s hospital chief executive officer.

The presentation was postponed to the December board meeting in order to give the new chief executive officer time before having to make the report.

The video of the December 12, 2017 board meeting is not available on the county hospital’s web site.  The November and January videos are however.

Is this an oversight or are they trying to avoid making the children’s hospital financial situation known to the public?

Our former county judge is campaigning to become our local congressional representative.  She was one of the main champions of the bond issue that build the children’s hospital.  Is she being protected on this?

We deserve better

Glad to see some bloggers are taking the time to follow UMC and Children’s Hospital issues, plus viewing the video recordings of UMC board of managers’ meetings, along with UMC monthly agendas. You certainly can’t count on that local newspaper, which likes to remind readers “that government works best in the sunlight,” to cover it.

Maybe, just maybe during this congressional campaign, those candidates running for that position, can demand and force a little transparency and accountability on that Children’s Hospital bankruptcy debacle! A little ‘public sunlight” on that costly blunder would certainly be nice. What do you think?

That candidate Dori has been running some nice TC campaign ads since the weekend. Good to see someone stepping up their campaign game.

As a west side taxpayer watching the fiscal irresponsibility at both EPSID and the county, I can assure you it will be a cold day in hell before either Dori or Vero gets my vote. Once a politician establishes their creds as a tax and spender we should vote against them because it will only get worse over time.

Oh, didn’t Children’s Hospital ‘try to shit on’ a local attorney, who at that time spoke up in public over that entity’s bankruptcy matter? Wasn’t he the guy who also owned a sports running shoe company?

So that seem a fair point to bring up during this ongoing congressional election season.
