The games continue

Our recently resigned EPISD board president’s resignation occurred just after the closing date for candidates to file for his seat.

If he really did not know that he was in the wrong district and he found out as he was filing for re-election he could have filed to run in the proper district.

We deserve better

Differing stories are heard. One is that he wanted out of the BOT. Another that he moved to Santa Theresa. Another that he moved within EPISD but didn’t want to run for BOT and that gave him cause.

In either case, there should be some kind of prosecution done based on the time he DID serve. Unless he’s a total idiot, I can’t believe he didn’t notice his name wasn’t on the previous ballot when he went to vote. If he was still registered in the old district after this much time had passed, then voter fraud occured too.

While I am not a lawyer it looks to me like the EPISD is where the application is filed and should be liable for whether or not the application complies (proper address) but this mornings paper seems for them to say “Is no my job”

      From Election law Sec 141.032
On the filing of an application for a place on the ballot, the authority with whom the application is filed shall review the application to determine whether it complies with the requirements as to form, content, and procedure that it must satisfy for the candidate’s name to be placed on the ballot.
