I was pleased to see the front page article in the Times the day after the election.
They wrote about election results.
Quite often it takes two or three days before a news item makes it to the Times.
We deserve better

The El Paso Times isn’t much of a NEWS Paper any more. When I stopped the Times it was because they didn’t, couldn’t deliver it most of the time. And then of course they had no Writers any more, so all you get is copied, re-printed articles from USA Today, other News sources. And because of that, the stories had already appeared on tv, other News media , days before. There is no Political, Public Corruption in El Paso, because there is no one to investigate, write the stories. There are few “Stories” in El Paso. Apparently the Times today is just one person reading stories on the internet and then putting them on a copy machine.

Yes, usually the Times runs old news that we’ve already seen. This edition could have been different because they knew it was coming and had time to get ready. The election was scheduled months in advance, not like the rest of the news that would require people on the ground to respond at a minutes notice. This scoop was essentially delivered to them.

It’s sad because it used to be a good publication. My sister worked for the Los Angeles times and would read it when she visited. She often told me that she was impressed with the writers and photographers. That was 40 years ago. How time flies
