The Socorro Independent School District superintendent evidently recently told his board of trustees that almost all of their graduates last year were actually qualified for graduation.
I can understand mistakes being made.
What I cannot understand is a superintendent saying anything other than “I will get to the bottom of this and see to it that this does not happen again”.
We don’t need to lower our standards any further.
The other graduates deserve better.

I was pleased to see the front page article in the Times the day after the election.
They wrote about election results.
Quite often it takes two or three days before a news item makes it to the Times.

EPISD is having a board meeting Thursday, March 12, 2020.
One of the items they will discuss is their debt service fund budget projections.
Here is what the backup material for the agenda item shows:
They evidently don’t want the public to know.

While buying gasoline the other day I saw this:

I recognize their right to sell the product as well as the right of the smokers to use it.
I am exercising my right to buy from someone else.
