According to an article in El Paso Inc. an El Paso call center recently tricked city inspectors during a site visit.
The Inc’s headline was “CALL CENTER EVADES CORONAVIRUS ORDERS”.
They wrote “Supervisors at a GC Services call center apparently hoodwinked a city inspection team Thursday by sending call takers on break before inspectors made the rounds to see if the company was adhering to social distancing and other regulations imposed in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.”
The Inc. interviewed multiple employees that “all said they were still working side-by-side” instead of having six feet of distance between them.
The city and county have issued directives prohibiting that kind of situation.
It appears that we not only have violations of the local directives but we have managers deliberately trying to cover them up.

They should be punished as according to law. If they aren’t, then no other businesses should be punished for anything, either.

Sun Metro is also violating the 6 ft rule as well. Leaving the seat adjacent to a passenger is not within the 6ft requirement.

They are working way too hard on this. All they got to do is PAY OFF the City Inspectors like the Roofers, others do and it’s all good. Like most other things within the El Paso, city Government. Money in the “Side pocket”, Mordida, will fix a problem.

Why are call centers even open when so many other businesses were required to shut down? How do call centers qualify as essential businesses.

Inspectors should have the ability to have that call centers statistics as to number of employees that clocked in. Clock in and out is done at their workstation so this can be easily accessed. This would demonstrate if the number of employees clocked in that day can fit in the work areas using social distancing standards. If not, shut down and fine .

They should make them take my phone number off of their list and they will all have to go home because no other numbers are left to call. 🙂
